How to determine the lubrication cycle according to the frequency of use of the slitting machine?

1. High-frequency slitting machine
1. Definition of high frequency of use:
When the slitting machine runs for a long time every day, works continuously for multiple shifts, or has more working days per week, it can be regarded as a high frequency of use. For example, a slitting machine that runs more than 8 hours a day and works more than 5 days a week.
2. Shorten the lubrication cycle:
For slitting machines with high frequency of use, the lubrication cycle should be relatively short. Key parts such as the tool shaft can be considered to be lubricated every 3 to 5 days.
The rollers of the conveying system are lubricated every 1 to 2 weeks. Transmission parts such as belts, chains, gears, etc. are lubricated every 2 to 3 weeks.
Frequent operation will cause more heat and wear in the friction parts. Timely lubrication can reduce friction between parts, reduce wear rate, and ensure stable operation of the equipment. For example, the tool shaft is under great pressure and friction during high-frequency cutting. Regularly adding an appropriate amount of high-speed bearing lubricant can keep the tool shaft rotating smoothly and reduce the damage to the bearing caused by heat generated by friction.
2. Medium-frequency slitting machine
1. Definition of medium-frequency slitting machine:
The slitting machine has a moderate daily operating time and a relatively normal number of working days per week, which can be classified as medium-frequency slitting machine. For example, a slitting machine that runs 4 to 8 hours a day and works 3 to 5 days a week.
2. Moderate lubrication cycle:
For slitting machines with medium frequency, the lubrication cycle can be appropriately extended. Key parts such as the tool shaft are lubricated every 7 to 10 days.
The rollers of the conveying system are lubricated every 2 to 3 weeks. The transmission parts are lubricated every 3 to 4 weeks.
Such a lubrication cycle can ensure the normal operation of the equipment without causing excessive maintenance costs. For example, the rollers of the conveying system are lubricated every two weeks or so under medium-frequency use, which can effectively reduce the friction between the rollers and the conveyor belt and extend the service life of the rollers.
3. Low-frequency slitting machine
1. Definition of low-frequency slitting machine:
The slitting machine is used less, runs intermittently, or has few working days per week, which belongs to low-frequency slitting machine. For example, a slitter that runs no more than 4 hours a day and works less than 2 to 3 days a week.
2. Extend the lubrication cycle:
The lubrication cycle of a slitter with low frequency of use can be greatly extended. Key parts such as the tool shaft are lubricated and checked every 2 to 3 weeks.
The rollers of the conveying system are lubricated every 3 to 4 weeks. The transmission parts are lubricated every 4 to 6 weeks.
Since the equipment is used less frequently and the friction between the parts is relatively small, the lubrication cycle can be appropriately extended. However, before each use, the lubrication of the equipment should still be checked to ensure that the equipment is in good working condition. For example, for a slitter that is used occasionally, the transmission parts should be checked and lubricated before being used again after a long period of idleness to prevent equipment failure due to insufficient lubrication.
