1. Wear and lubrication requirements during equipment operation
1. Friction of moving parts:
During the operation of the slitting machine, there are many moving parts, such as tool shafts, rollers of the conveying system, transmission parts, etc. These parts will generate friction when moving, and lubricants can form an oil film on the friction surface to reduce direct contact between metals and reduce the friction coefficient.
For example, when the tool shaft rotates at high speed, if there is not enough lubrication, the friction between the shaft and the bearing will cause the temperature to rise, the wear will increase, and even the jamming phenomenon may occur, affecting the normal operation of the slitting machine.
2. Prevent wear and corrosion:
Lubricants can not only reduce friction, but also prevent wear and corrosion. It can form a protective film on the metal surface to prevent oxygen, moisture and other corrosive substances in the air from contacting the metal, thereby extending the service life of the equipment.
For slitting machines, especially in humid environments or when handling some corrosive materials, regular addition of lubricants can effectively protect the metal parts of the equipment from rust and corrosion.
2. Differences in lubrication cycles of different parts
1. Frequent lubrication needs for key parts:
Key parts such as the tool shaft wear faster due to the high pressure and high-speed rotation, and require a relatively short lubrication cycle. Generally speaking, it is necessary to check and add lubricant every week or every two weeks to ensure the normal operation of the tool shaft.
For example, for the tool shaft of a high-speed slitting machine, using high-quality lubricating oil and regularly lubricating and maintaining it according to the frequency of use and working environment of the equipment can greatly extend the service life of the tool and improve the slitting quality.
2. Appropriate lubrication cycle for other parts:
Relatively minor parts such as rollers and transmission parts of the conveying system have relatively low wear, and the lubrication cycle can be appropriately extended. Usually, lubrication inspection and lubricant addition are performed once a month or two months.
However, the specific lubrication cycle also needs to be adjusted according to factors such as the model, use environment, and work intensity of the slitting machine. For example, for a slitting machine working in a dusty environment, the rollers of the conveying system may accumulate dust and impurities faster, affecting the lubrication effect, so more frequent cleaning and lubrication are required.
3. Consequences of Ignoring Regular Lubrication
1. Decreased Equipment Performance:
If lubricant is not added regularly, the moving parts of the slitting machine will slow down due to increased friction, increase noise, and reduce precision. For example, if the rollers of the conveying system lack lubrication, the conveyor belt will not run smoothly, affecting the conveying speed and precision of the material, and may even cause the material to shift during the slitting process, affecting product quality.
2. Increased component damage and maintenance costs:
Long-term lack of lubrication will increase the wear of equipment components, which may eventually lead to component damage, requiring replacement of new components and increasing maintenance costs. For example, if the bearing of the tool shaft is damaged due to insufficient lubrication, not only does it need to replace the bearing, it may also affect the accuracy and service life of the tool, causing greater economic losses to the company.
3. Production interruption and reduced efficiency:
When the slitting machine fails due to lubrication problems, it will cause production interruption, affecting the company's production schedule and delivery time. Moreover, it takes time and manpower to repair the equipment, further reducing production efficiency.
For example, during peak production, if the slitting machine suddenly stops due to poor lubrication, it may cause the entire production line to stagnate, causing serious losses to the company.
