How to operate a rewinding machine safely

I. Safety Preparations Before Operation
1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear a safety helmet, safety glasses, non-slip shoes, and protective gloves. Long hair must be tucked into the helmet. Wearing jewelry or loose clothing is strictly prohibited.

2. Comprehensive Equipment Inspection:
Check the emergency stop button, protective cover, and interlocking devices for proper function.
Confirm the air pressure is within the range of 0.6~0.8MPa, and that the circuit is undamaged and properly grounded.
Check that the round and bottom blades are secure and that the blades are free of nicks or chips to prevent them from flying out and injuring people during operation.

3. Environmental Cleanup: Remove debris around the equipment to ensure unobstructed passageways and prevent tripping or obstruction of emergency evacuation.

II. Safety Regulations for Loading and Paper Feeding
1. When hoisting paper rolls: Lift evenly from both ends. Do not pass over personnel's heads. Operators must obey the instructions of the supervising personnel.

2. Paper Feeding Operation: This must be performed with the equipment completely stopped. Hands or body must not be near rotating parts such as pressure rollers and guide rollers. Maintain focus during operation to prevent clothing or gloves from being caught in the machine.

III. Safety Controls During Operation

1. Start-up Sequence: First, issue a start-up signal and confirm that no one is in the transmission area before starting. Start at a low speed (creep speed), gradually increasing the speed after the machine is running smoothly.

2. Prohibited Actions: Touching the paper roll, adjusting the blades, or cleaning the wrapped rollers is strictly prohibited during operation. If paper edges are wrapped around the rollers, the machine must be stopped immediately; do not clean them directly with your hands. When changing blades or repairing equipment, power and gas must be disconnected, and a "Do Not Operate" warning sign must be displayed.

3. Tension and Speed Control: Tension settings must match the material characteristics to avoid excessive tension leading to paper breakage or equipment overload. The machine speed must not exceed the equipment's limits, typically not exceeding 200 meters per minute.

IV. Shutdown and Unloading Safety

1. Shutdown Procedure: After the finished roll reaches the set diameter, decelerate smoothly; sudden stops are prohibited.
After stopping, confirm the main shaft is completely stationary before proceeding with subsequent operations.

2. Paper Unloading Operation: Before unloading, check if anyone is under the unloading table.
Use a special tool to push out the core shaft; avoid manual operation.
Shandong Daxing Roller Manufacturing has applied for a patent for a new type of unloading table safety protection device, which can effectively prevent accidental paper roll falls and injury.

V. Emergency Handling

1. If abnormal noise, vibration, or smoke is detected, immediately press the emergency stop button to cut off the power.

2. In case of paper breakage, deviation, etc., the machine must be stopped before addressing the joint or adjusting parameters.

3. All maintenance work must be performed by qualified personnel; operators must not disassemble critical components without authorization.

✅ Safety Tips:

Stop the machine before starting work;

Wear full protective gear; keep paper away from your body; do not reach out while the machine is running; conduct routine checks;

Follow operating procedures.
