Common Issues with Aluminum Foil Slitting Machines

1. Substandard Cutting Precision
Manifests as dimensional deviations and burrs on the cut edges, often caused by blade wear or improper angle settings. Solutions include regularly replacing carbide blades, calibrating the parallelism of the cutter shafts, and keeping the cutter rotation speed below 5,000 rpm.
2. Coil Irregularities
Includes loose winding, uneven end faces, and wrinkling. These can be addressed by enabling taper tension control, adjusting the winding tension to 80%–90% of the slitting tension, and checking the concentricity of the air expansion shaft to prevent roll eccentricity.
3. Aluminum Foil Surface Defects
Scratches, abrasions, and indentations caused by aluminum powder are often due to dust accumulation on guide rollers or aluminum powder adhering to the blades. Daily cleaning of guide rollers and regular removal of aluminum debris from the blades are required; slitting speed should be maintained between 80 and 150 meters per minute.
4. Other Common Faults
For instances where slit strips stick together, reduce the slitting speed and clean out any oil residue inside the machine; for inaccurate length measurement, calibrate the counting wheel to ensure it makes full contact with the rubber feed roller.
